According to statistics, more than 90% of cumene is used to produce phenol and produce acetone. In addition, cumene can also be used to produce coatings, varnishes, and enamels, as well as certain petroleum-based solvents and high octane aviation fuel components. It can also be used to make acetophenone, α-methylstyrene and peroxides, as well as catalysts for the polymerization and oxidation processes.
According to the latest statistical data from SRIC, the global production capacity of 14.521 million tons/year of cumene is specifically distributed as follows: North America: 4.29 million tons/year, South America: 310,000 tons/year; Western Europe: 3.43 million tons/year, Eastern Europe The area is 833,000 tons/year; in the Asia Pacific region, China is 1.374 million tons/year, Japan is 1.63 million tons/year, plus South Korea, Singapore, India, etc. The Asia-Pacific region totals 5.358 million tons/year.
