· Hyundai Kia 2015 sales decline in China intends to promote promotional strategies

According to the Yonhap News, Hyundai and Kia Motors sold a total of 1.679 million vehicles in China in 2015, down 4.9% year-on-year. This is the first time that Hyundai Kia’s sales in China have declined since 2007. The decline in that year was 18%.

It is reported that Hyundai Motor sold 1.063 million vehicles in China last year, down 5.1% year-on-year; Kia Motors sold 616,000 vehicles in China, down 4.6% year-on-year.

The poor performance of Hyundai and Kia in China led to its failure to meet its 2015 global sales target. Due to the fierce competition from China's own brands in China, Hyundai-Kia began to decline in sales in May 2015, and the decline in June and July increased by 29.1% and 32.8% respectively. Later, with the launch of a series of price reduction promotions, sales began to rebound in October. December sales increased by 17.5% year-on-year.
