Lead Stearate is white powder, insoluble in water, soluble in hot ethanol, benzene and turpentine, dissolved by heating in organic solvents and becomes gelatinous after cooling, decomposed into Stearic Acid and corresponding salt when meeting strong acid, with hygroscopicity. Lead stearate can be used as heat stabilizer and lubricant of Polyvinyl Chloride, with good lubricity and light and heat stability. It has good synergistic effect when used with cadmium soap, barium soap or organic tin compounds, and can be used in various opaque hard and soft PVC products, such as hard pipes, hard boards, sheets, films and artificial leather, especially for wire and cable materials, which can give the products excellent electrical properties. It is also used as anti-sedimentation agent for paints, water-releasing agent for fabrics, thickening agent for lubricants, heat-resistant stabilizer for plastics, etc. It is used as stabilizer for opaque soft and hard PVC products.
