Mobile P2 "lab" arrives in Ya'an

Recently, the earthquake in Ya'an triggered the attention of the people of the country. Beijing sent an infectious disease prevention and control emergency team to the disaster area. Ten professional and support vehicles were transported to the disaster area through train trains at noon yesterday. A state-of-the-art large-scale "laboratory" vehicle cannot be transported by rail and will be directed to the disaster-stricken area in Ya'an.

At 11 o'clock the night before yesterday, the Beijing Municipal Health Bureau received an emergency notice from the National Health and Family Planning Commission. At 5 a.m. yesterday morning, 11 professional and support vehicles left the Municipal CDC and arrived at Dahongmen Railway Station at 6:30. Including camping vehicles, communications command vehicles, sanitation vehicles, disinfection vehicles, pathogenic microorganisms quarantine vehicles. Among them, the seemingly usual van trucks have no distinction between camping vehicles. After layered deployment, they can accommodate 24 people for work. Some disaster-affected people with special circumstances can get treatment and rest here. The disinfection vehicle is used for post-disaster disinfection in the disaster area and can spray drugs on a large area to reduce the spread of the virus.

With the support of the Beijing Railway Bureau, at 1:30 pm yesterday, professional and support vehicles were loaded onto the train and went to the Ya'an disaster area in Sichuan. The railway department expressed its full support, “grabbing” the word first, followed by “specialized” treatment, and kept going all the way. It is expected to arrive in Chengdu after more than 30 hours.

Among them, the Mobile Pathogenic Microorganisms Biosafety P2 Lab can inspect more than 500 viruses in half an hour. It is the most important technical equipment for the prevention and control team. This equipment will also be moved to the disaster area. However, the vehicle weighed 17 tons and could not be transported by truck to the disaster-stricken area due to the railway's high limit. The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Health Bureau immediately decided that the car should be directly opened to the disaster area. After the mobile P2 laboratory arrives in the disaster area, it will help to fully grasp the information of the epidemic in the disaster area and conduct scientific anti-epidemic work.

According to reports, the communicable disease prevention and control team consists of 46 people, including 30 professional disease control members, 13 logistical support, and 3 medical personnel from the Anding Hospital. Logistical support personnel took the lead to go to the disaster area last night. The remaining personnel plan to go to the disaster area at 8 a.m. this morning to carry out sanitation and epidemic prevention work.
