Square Launches Global Mobile Sales Registration Software
Squared mobile payment company Square, founded by Jack Dorsey, one of the creators of social networking Twitter, launched its worldwide software that enables businesses to track sales, inventory, and other data on their smartphones and tablets. Square's mobile application Square Register, which can be used on Google's Android system and Apple's IOS platform, can be used for commercial purposes such as point of sale. Square company said that the application will be launched in English, Spanish, French and Japanese versions, and supports payment in 130 currencies. According to a report in August, Square is worth about $6 billion. It is even better known as a reader for mobile payments that can be plugged into a smartphone. The company stated that it has not yet made available to countries outside the United States, Canada and Japan. Square is facing competition from PayPal and Amazon, both of which cost 2.75% less than Square's in the United States.
